You know those nights that just stick with you? November 6th at the Shrine Expo Hall was one of those. Vince Staples headlining his first tour since 2019, with Baby Rose opening? I knew it would be good, but I didn’t realize just how good until I was right there, surrounded by an amazing crowd and great pre-set music playing before the acts.

Baby Rose: Pure Soul Therapy

Let’s start with Baby Rose. Honestly, I didn’t know much about her before this show, but wow—I walked out a full-on fan. Her voice? Rich, smooth, and powerful. It felt like a warm hug we all needed, especially coming right after Election Day. Her set was pure soul therapy.

And can we talk about her cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide? Unreal. Someone needs to get that on streaming platforms, like, yesterday. But the song that really stuck with me? Caroline. That one gave me so much peace. If you know, you know. I can’t believe I wasn’t listening to Baby Rose before, but better late than never.

Vince Staples: Back and Better Than Ever

Then Vince Staples took the stage, and everything changed. It’s been a while since his last headlining tour, and he’s dropped three incredible albums since then—Vince Staples, Ramona Park Broke My Heart, and the brand new Dark Times. The crowd was alive, and Vince delivered.

The set design was simple but powerful. There were steps leading up to a screen with the American flag waving in the background. Vince opened with Black&Blue, sitting on those steps as the curtain dropped. It set the tone perfectly. You could feel the energy building.

When he sang tracks like Blue Suede, Norf Norf, and Yeah Right, the whole venue went off. Fans were dancing, screaming, and vibing so hard. It wasn’t just a concert; it felt like a celebration of everything Vince has accomplished—from Long Beach’s Ramona Park to taking over the stage that night.

As the night wrapped up, I walked out feeling so full—in the best way. Baby Rose gave us soul, Vince brought the fire, and together, they created a night that felt like a reset button. Music like this, moments like this—they’re more than just enjoyment. They’re connection. And right now, that connection means everything.
