Los Angeles based indie rockstars The Wrecks are set to release their latest project Inside on April 11th. The project will be released in two parts, with a headlining tour in the spring. The first two singles from the project are out now: “Speed” and Always, Everytime”.

Known for their upbeat, catchy sound and heartfelt lyrics, their newest project will explore heavy themes of mental health, creative struggle, isolation and the self-realization that comes with it.

In a press conference, Anderson revealed that his writing comes from a place of vulnerable, personal truth, leaving much of the outside noise out of it. But the connection fans make with it is an adventitious, though welcomed outcome.

“I’m just making the thing that I’m feeling, as honestly from my point of view as I can,” he admitted.

“I can only make things that people connect with by connecting with it only for myself,” he explained. “The result of it is really validating and lovely and makes touring so great and makes the whole struggling of it worth it.”

The exploration of mental health fans can expect from Inside comes from a year of struggle, Anderson admitted. “I realized that the record is just about the fact that I was trying so hard for something for so long that it broke my brain.”

“It’s about being locked away so long the outside world starts growing in through the cracks of the walls.”

The release date for the second part of the project, Outside, has yet to be announced. However, the band will be embarking on their ‘Inside: Outside’ headline tour starting April 18th in Berkeley, California.
