Girl and Girl
Aussie, groovy, indie band Girl and Girl opened the show at Rebel Lounge. The first song on the setlist “Call A Doctor” drew the crowd in immediately. It’s an interesting song, to say the least – more of a story, rather than a song. From that song on, I knew we were in for a surprising set. While the band seems a bit shy, they’re still incredibly engaging and super talented. Their vibe reminds me a bit of David Bowie.
Royel Otis
Seeing an actually talented band blow up in real time is always a good time. This is exactly the case with Royel Otis. As they ran on stage to the hundreds of screams coming from the crowd, it was clear how the show was going to go. What ensued was an hour of pure joy, from the boys and the crowd. While most in the audience knew and loved their original songs, they still paid homage to their new fans with a cover of “Murder on the Dancefloor” by Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
