Alt-indie superstars Rainbow Kitten Surprise brought their incredible show to Phoenix, Arizona to an excited crowd full of total love and support for the music, their fellow fan, and for the amazing band.

Ela Melo sauntered into the spotlight wearing a darling red babydoll dress, and the night began. Starting with ‘Devil Like Me’, and accompanied by the screaming fans, Melo and band let themselves get lost in the music. It was clear that the band all has a deep respect for what each member contributes to the music, all together in their own world on the stage.

Melo’s stage presence is enchanting. She commands attention as she takes the stage as her own. She is a light on stage, moving around each avenue and each member as even they get lost in her energy. It was incredible to behold.

The setlist was full of crowd favorites like ‘Cocaine Jesus’, ‘Work Out’, ‘Goodnight Chicago’, as well as songs from their latest album Love Hate Music Box! Opener Madi Diaz joined the band for the performance of ‘Overtime’ and it was an absolute sight!

When Diaz is on stage, she holds what can only be described as a quiet power. Passion seeps through her vocals, and her stage presence stays steady. Seeing her with Melo, both vocalists bringing out the best energy from each other, was a beautiful treat. And the crowd agreed.

Ending the night with an encore of, fittingly, ‘Thanks For Coming’, and the crowd favorite ‘It’s Called: Freefall’, was a beautiful goodbye to not only their diehard fans, but even more casual listeners who were definitely fans by the end.

Rainbow Kitten Surprise put on a spectacular show that was not only mesmerizing, but passionate. Their love for their music seeps deeply into their performance, infecting the space with so much love and high energy. In the crowd, there was a beautiful sense of safe comfort, with many tears and even more smiles. It was incredible to be in such a warm, loving space, watching such a devoted and talented band like Rainbow Kitten Surprise.
