idobi Radio brings the Summer School Tour to The Marquee Theater in Tempe, Arizona for an incredibly fun night of pop punk magic!

Letdown.

Chicago based rock band, Letdown. kicked off the second to last stop on the Summer School tour. The band’s energetic stage presence and powerful vocals created an incredibly memorable start to the show. The crowd immediately jumped into action, creating a pit and crowd surfing through the band’s set. It’s clear that the choice to have Letdown. open the show was a very smart one.

Honey Revenge

Honey Revenge, the second of the six acts, walked on stage in coordinated all pink outfits. Combined with fun visuals and a clear friendship between the band, Honey Revenge arguably takes the award for most fun set of the night. Their music is very reminiscent of Riot! era Paramore and lead singer Devin Papadol’s vocals only added to the effect. Their set mixed fun dancing on stage with powerful lyrics and production.

Scene Queen

If you’re anywhere near the alternative-music side of TikTok, you’ve more than likely heard of Scene Queen. The self proclaimed “Bimbocore” artist mixes being fun and girly, with metal and punk elements that makes for an incredibly fun live experience. Arguably one of the most anticipated acts of the night, Scene Queen knows how to work a crowd. She was consistently interacting with them in between each song with fun little quips such as, “This is what we call musical edging,” and, “I know we’re in arizona but I need you to act like it’s texas right now – this song is about hot moms,” before playing a song titled MILF with a country type feel to it.

Stand Atlantic

Sydney based band, Stand Atlantic, kicked off the second half of the show. By now the crowd was buzzing with energy, screaming and jumping along to every song. At one point, lead vocalist Bonnie Fraser asks the crowd to get as low as possible, and they got surprisingly low, some of them even laying on the ground. When the beat dropped the energy in the room exploded into dancing and singing along with the band. At the end of their set, they even brought out the lead vocalist of Magnolia Park to wrap up their last song with them.

The Home Team

The Home Team’s set was an electrifying show from start to finish, with the crowd’s enthusiasm palpable as they danced and crowd surfed along to the songs. The band delivered an unforgettable performance, seamlessly blending tracks from their latest album The Crucible of Life with older songs that had the audience dancing and cheering the entire set. As the band launched into their final, highly anticipated song, “Get Loud,” (that had recently been getting very popular online), the crowd loudly screamed the words, earning an “A plus” for the night

Magnolia Park

Wrapping up the night was Orlando based band, Magnolia Park. The set was a dynamic experience, demonstrated by their modern blend of rap elements with pop punk. Between songs, the band engaged the audience with engaging videos and vocal prompts, creating a seamless and interactive flow throughout the show. The crowd, deeply invested and screaming with enthusiasm, sang along to every track, demonstrating their intimate knowledge of the band’s music. The band’s use of the entire stage added to the energetic atmosphere, and the Halloween-style graphics projected behind them enhanced the show’s visual appeal.
